The Inn On Trout River is located just six miles from Jay Peak Ski Resort (about a 15 minute drive up the mountain road). The inn is also only a mile and a half from Hazen's Notch Cross Country Ski Center.

Jay Peak (vertical of 2,153 feet) boasts the highest average natural snowfall in the East. In fact, with an average snowfall of over 318 inches

averaging 156 ski days), it beats out many Western resorts as well! Trail difficulty ratings are 20% novice, 40% intermediate and 40% advanced. The big news for next year at Jay Peak will be a new High-Speed Quad lift. Jay Peak has some 62 trails, glades and chutes to ski on, including 285 trail acres and 100+ acres of glades. To get you up on those trails, it has Vermont's only Aerial Tramway (60 passenger) plus a Quad Chair, 2 Double Chairs, 1 Triple Chair and 2 T-Bars. The glade skiing at Jay is unbeatable. All trails are open to snowboarders, and the new half-pipe has made the resort even more popular with the snowboard crowd.

snowboarderNew features at Jay Peak are some 20 km of cross country ski trails at the base of the mountain and an outdoor ice skating rink. Lots of winter fun is packed into one great mountain! And Jay Peak accepts Canadian money AT PAR for their lift tickets.

We hope you will plan a visit to The Inn On Trout River this winter. With so many Winter Sports to participate in (skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice skating all at our doorstep), there's plenty for you to do on your next winter vacation. And remember, Jay Peak is known as the snow capital of the East, so come prepared to really enjoy yourself.
