Hazen's Notch Cross Country Ski Center is just a bit over a mile from the inn. They have 50 km of scenic groomed and back country trails for all ability levels.
Because of its latitude and high elevation, Hazen's will have trails open when they are hard to find elsewhere. Equipment rentals are available and you can get expert advice and lessons.

snowmobiling buttonV.A.S.T. Routes 120 and 105 come into Montgomery Center. From here you can connect with the entire V.A.S.T. system which covers some 3,500 miles or groomed trails and 1,500 miles of secondary and feeder trails throughout Vermont. The Inn On Trout River has ample parking for trailers and machines for our inn guests. Jay Peak Ski Resort also offers snowmobile rentals for their guided mountain and area tours. This is a great way to try out the sport and get a feel for the adventure!

snowshoeing buttonIf you have never experienced this particular sport, you're in for an experience! Get to hear, see and feel nature at it's muffled best as you trek through our snow-packed woods and meadows.
